What You Sell

In sum, you sell college, career, and life readiness software by featuring a suite of tools that helps schools, districts, regional entities, and states transform the way they support students in their readiness journey. Transeo currently features four products (Journey, College, Jobs, Serve) with more on the way, all fully integrated, developed in the U.S., and built using one of the most modern programming languages. With the passage of new federal and state education policies, educators are clamoring for systems to support a much more flexible system that focuses more on the whole child rather than reducing students to just grades and test scores. The Job

Put simply, the job is to generate and close sales with school districts, workforce intermediaries, and colleges. Because Transeo’s suite crosses the traditional silos of a school district, decision-makers are varied and include counseling, career and technical education, curriculum, and school-based leaders as well as assistant superintendents and superintendents. The person in this role must be skilled at figuring out the context of each potential persona to generate interest to get the right meeting with the right person(s). Key duties include:

  • Ultimately, fulfilling aggressive sales quotas
  • Meet weekly quota of meetings with qualified decision-makers
  • Keep opportunities moving through the sales cycle stages using a skilled consultative approach
  • Lead generation through prospecting calls as needed, although we do have an internal sales team who is primarily responsible for this
  • Setting and meeting goals related to sales activity such as emails, follow up calls, promotional webinars, in-person meetings, trade show presence, etc.
  • Maintaining records in Salesforce and participating as a member of the Sales team in performance management meetings, problem-solving sessions, etc.

Qualifications & Desired Skills / Characteristics

  • 3-5+ years of outside sales experience with experience in education technology being for at least half of that time
  • Prefer bachelor’s degree but past track record is more important
  • Proven track record of quota attainment
  • Integrity and a willingness to embrace the company’s values
  • Warm, calm, professional and confident phone demeanor
  • Effective strategic relationship management skills
  • Assertive, outgoing, competitive, and self-motivated attitude
  • Detail-oriented
  • Comfortable with and inspired by a data-based management style with transparency of personal activity and closed sales metrics
  • Willingness to learn the products to a level of depth that will allow for inspiring decision-makers to take a meeting
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Comfort level with “managing up” by prioritizing buying influencer meetings, summarizing key background information on decision-makers, and telling executives where they need to be and when
  • Willingness to help out wherever needed to close sales
  • High technology proficiency, Salesforce proficiency is a plus
