Transeo (we provide software solutions to schools and school districts nationwide) is growing and hiring a Software Product Owner/Project Manager.

This person will report to our VP of Product and work closely with a range of stakeholders to create and iterate products that advance student learning and life readiness. You will identify user needs and work with clients and internal, cross-functional teams to design, develop and improve product functionality and manage product releases. As a Software Product Owner /Project Manager, you must have a strong understanding of the software development lifecycle and actively manage it in order to deliver products that support students, teachers, and school leaders. We are looking for someone passionate about education and capable of flourishing in a start-up environment.

Being a fast-growing startup, we need a “doer” who will actively run and manage the sprint and tenaciously clear any blockers or impediments to deliver on the deadlines in the product roadmap.

What you will do:

  • Create and manage sprint planning
  • Orchestrate handoffs between all members of the team so they all feel set up for success
  • Builds the product backlog, prioritizes items to achieve objectives and results and continuously keeps it up to date.
  • Demonstrate ownership and accountability of results in an end-to-end project/product lifecycle
  • Take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable pieces; develop functional specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner
  • Leverage precious resources and a proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously
  • Thrive in a dynamic and challenging work environment and able to set goals and achieve scheduled deadlines
  • Have working knowledge of software product development architecture in order to break down technical projects into appropriate pieces of work
  • Lead and work cross-functionally in a small collaborative environment


  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Product Owner/Project Manager
  • Demonstrable experience managing effective geographically distributed teams building digital products, preferably SaaS
  • Familiarity with Agile, Waterfall, and Kanban software development practices
  • A track record of thriving in a dynamic environment, collaborating directly and deeply with cross-functional partners, including designers and engineers
  • Ability to communicate well with our customers and establish which product-related challenges and problems they are facing are most important to their success and our business
  • Comfort with and experience in interacting with internal senior management as well as counterparts in customer organizations
  • Excellent visual, written, and oral communication skills

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $90,000.00 plus commensurate with experience.
